Join us for the Amtrak Century Ride, the Orange County Wheelmen’s premier annual cycling adventure along one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in America.
Starting in beautiful Irvine, California, this unforgettable ride follows the stunning Southern California shoreline south, delivering breathtaking ocean views, cool coastal breezes, and a day of cycling you'll be talking about long after the finish line.

Metric Century (62 miles) — Finish in scenic Solana Beach
Full Century (100 miles) — Ride all the way to vibrant Downtown San Diego
From the moment you roll out, you'll be treated to miles of dramatic coastal beauty, picturesque beach towns, and refreshing ocean air that makes every climb and every mile more enjoyable. Whether you're riding for a personal best or simply soaking in the scenery, the Amtrak Century offers an experience that is as rewarding as it is challenging.
Along the route, our friendly and enthusiastic volunteers will welcome you at fully supported SAG stops stocked with refreshing drinks, energy-boosting snacks, and replenishing treats to keep you fueled, hydrated, and smiling throughout the day. Riders tackling the Full Century can take on the Torrey Pines KOM/QOM Challenge—or simply enjoy the cold popsicle waiting at the top as a well-earned reward for conquering the climb.
At the finish line, riders will earn their commemorative medal and celebrate their accomplishment with a delicious post-ride lunch and an optional brewery stop, all while sharing stories and reliving the day's highlights with fellow cyclists.
When the day is done, leave the logistics to us. An optional Amtrak return ticket allows you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride north with your fellow participants while your bicycle is transported safely back to Irvine.

Background:
The Amtrak Century Ride is an annual cycling event sponsored by the Orange County Wheelmen, one of the original non-profit cycling clubs in Southern California. The Amtrak Century ride began over 50 years ago in 1974 and has run every year since, with the exception of the COVID years. The ride starts in Irvine California and follows the Southern California coastline down toward San Diego. The Metric Century Ride (62 miles) finishes in Solana Beach and the Full Century (100 miles) finishes in Downtown San Diego. Both Rides are fully supported and include an optional train ticket for return travel to the Irvine starting location.
